008 - Thai Phrasebook: Counting 20-32

008 - Thai Phrasebook: Counting 20-32 (mp3)

NOTES: Once you can count to 21, you should be able to go all the way to 100 without any problem. Twenty is "yee-sib" and 21 is "yee-sib et". Note it isn't "yee-sib neung". But, the rest use the normal numbers. So, from 22 it is "yee-sib song, yee-sib sam, yee-sib see, yee-sib haa, yee-sib hok, yee-sib jed, yee-sib baed, yee-sib gao, sam-sib, sam-sib et, sam-sib song"

006 - Thai Phrasebook: Are you hungry?

006 - Thai Phrasebook: Are you hungry? (mp3)

NOTES: This podcast is for "Are you hungry?" but Thai people don't usually ask this question. It is more "Have you eaten yet?" which is a general greeting when you meet someone. So, Nong Grace first says "gin khao reu yang". To say yes, she says "gin laew". To say no, she says "yang mai dai gin". The next two phrases she says "I am hungry" - "chun hiew khao" and "I am thirsty" - "chan hiew nam". Don't forget, as I mentioned before, Nong Grace is a girl and says "chan". For men, you should say "pom" with a rising tone.
